Size A4, 272 pages of ZBrush, starting from the foundation of 3D and Art. (1st Ed. 2013)
My approach was to follow a 3D asset production workflow while teaching the student to use ZBrush, After some foundation on basic 3D terminology we move to "Concept Design" and learn the tools used to to just that in Z (Ex. Quick Sketch, Reference Grids) then we begin the project of producing a character using the skills learned so far. Then, on to the "Blocking Stage", again we learn the tools (ZSpheres, DynaMesh, etc.), work that stage on our character, then on to "Primary Forms" and keep moving forward. I follow that method all the way to the final render / Export, including reading it for 3D printing. Never seen a book that follows this methodology and from the feedback I get, it seems very effective.
Even tho I focus on a Character Design project throughout the book, my teachings are generic and can be applied to any 3D asset. The focus is on ZBrush as a tool but with some good art tips along the way.
Cheers!
P.S. I wrote this book in Brazilian Portuguese.
